Early History-
Adiria's earliest memories were those in a earthy den, scattered with flower petals and the barest stream of light that crept through a small opening. What she first remembers is not the earthen scent of her den, or the brief nose bump from her parents. Or even her only sibling. She remembers the cool darkness.
Adiria and her sibling were welcomed warmly by their parents, always keeping close to their mother. She remebers just vague pictures of her family, odd clips. The singsong voice of her mother. The rough fur of her father. The warmth of her sister- always by her side.
What Adiria doesn't understand- continues not to understand- is why that had to end.
--
Just a young pup, she started noticing things, odd things that were happening. First the uneasy emotions she started feeling from her parents, and their quiet whispers. When she opened her eyes, she started to see the tense, wary, almost fearful movements of her family. When she jumped and flapped open her wings by mistake, her mother howled, sent reeling back in fear. She quickly closed them and backed away, whimpering. Why was her mother so fearful of.. her?
It was really only her sister who stayed by her side then, quickly jumping to her place by Adiria any time the parents backed away, or tried to seperate them.
As time wore on, the unease grew.
The pup was still nameless, as her sister. Every chance possible, the parents leapt to seperate the siblings, as if whatever they feared in her might leap to her sister. And once, late at night, with the promise of coming back- it was just a hunting trip- they left.
The pup stood by the entrance of the den when she finally noticed the cold empty space all around her. She waited day and night, near motionless even as hunger and thirst tugged for her attention. Every time she saw the white disk rise into the sky. she howled, growing more desperate. Once she heard a faint reply, but that was quickly cut off. For whatever reason, they had left.
She had no family, no name, and with that no home. She had never learned her sister's name, it would be useless to try to find her. But she made a vow that night, as the white disk rose into the sky. She would find her sister.
