"Kalons-- a species with soft manes and even softer hearts.
Monitored in forests across the globe for years, these animals
have recently been declared naturally tame as well as sapient.
Scientists are asking the general population to consider adopting
Kalons for further study in their capabilities of intelligence.
Their shining tails are used for identification and showing off,
which is helpful when spotting another Kalon from afar. This
association with other Kalons is why they are head-over-heels
for any shiny or colorful item that they come across!"

"Kalons are generally long-furred, fossa-like omnivorous creatures whose diet tends to consist of fruit, nuts, fish, and insects.
These eupleridians can vary to any size of an adult feline. (9-50 inches high) Kalons are viviparous organisms which carry red blood and are incapable of breathing underwater, with the exception of legendary Kalons. Their tail shine is made of a flexible, skin-like iridescent material that can be compared with a hummingbird or snake's natural iridescence. Kalons have very dexterous paws for grasping. They use them to grip food, climb trees, and groom other Kalons. They communicate with a series of chatters and growls. These creatures are active both day and night, although they prefer to spend their days napping in the sunlight and hunting prey at night. Hundreds of Kalons can be found with harmless mutations such as coloration of the sclera, as they are highly sensitive to human-generated airwaves. Kalons born in locations with more radiation than normal can even be found with extra eyes, growths resembling horns, and glowing body parts. It is said that there are elusive Kalons known as legends that walk the earth, capable of possessing wings and even transparency. Kalons are as intelligent as dolphins, and create close bonds with fellow species members." |
