"I wasn't taught to appreciate magic.
I was taught to hate it. For years of my life, from the moment my parents found out the moment I almost died- magic was a forbidden curse that liked to jump around in my family, sometimes skipping a generation and plaguing the next." Pup ;; Aeryn's family was very unlike most of the wolves in their realm. Rather than living in a bigger pack or celebrating in annual celebrations, they isolated themselves. They didn't trust others and especially the warriors that only appeared when trouble did- perhaps even causing the trouble. Aeryn didn't truly pay attention to her family's odd ways- she didn't know any other way- until she started showing her affinity for elemental magic. When her mother caught her playing with floating water droplets and letting a younger sibling try to catch them, that was a breaking point. The stories that had been told before now grew more realistic as the parents tried to instill how much a danger her power was. Adolescent ;; An accident, that left a pup freshly orphaned, losing not only parents but her siblings too. She found them two days after, large hulking shapes- birds- hovering over them. She spent another two days, running back and forth, nipping and growling at any who dared get too close. That feeling occured, a tiny whisper of a thought that she could use her element to douse the pestering birds with water, but she quickly shook it away. That's not what her parents would have wanted- they would wake up sooner or later. But they didn't. Another wolf had seen the circling birds, and eventually went to investigate, by the time he had gotten there, Aeryn was weak from no food and tired from no sleep. She could barely keep herself upright, much less still chase off the birds, but she did. Snapping at their mocking taunts as they edged closer and closer. She was startled when a loud growl came next to her, and with a flurry of feathers and noise, the birds left. When she turned, she saw him. She took a step forward and fell into him, quickly giving in to darkness. The days and months that passed were a blur to Aeryn. She had been cared for and healed, and when they discovered her power, welcomed her even more. It was strange to see the evil warriors her parents had told her about come to life before her eyes- but in a new light. They became family, and she slowly grew to love them. But she wouldn't forget. Now ;; To be discovered.. |
Diligent -- Loyal -- Perceptive -- Articulate
Sarcastic -- Cautious -- Isolated -- Critical Aeryn is what you could call a silent leader. She's quiet but voices her opinions and does make a change. She never accepts compliments and when given praise she directs it to sombody else. When she does speak, she always chooses the right moment to, and her words are accurate and hold attention, so others tend to listen. Aeryn is also extremely loyal to those close to her, willing to throw her life out on the line without a second thought. She may at first glance seem like a reckless DW, but she's extremely perceptive, able to read between the lines and notice what isn't being said. Sometimes others are unnerved about how close she can get to home, she's just trying her best. Aeryn also has her faults; she's often just a little too cautious (few can ever tell when she's anxious though), and needs a little push to relax once and awhile. Aeryn is also isolated- growing up in such a different environment then where she is now takes it toll. She's adapted and thrives now, but once and awhile she'll catch herself acting like her parents, a thought she hates. Finally, Aeryn is just a little too sarcastic and critical with her words. While one or the other would be fine, when she get's tipped just a little too far, she strikes not with just playful sarcasm but with words that actually sting. --She does have another side of her that's reserved mostly for her friends and little pups. She can be rather relaxing to talk to, and rarely ever loses her temper; and she has an imagination much like a pup. |
Likes ;;
-- Old or Odd stuff // Things out of the norm tend to really catch her eye, and she can't help but keep a small collection of the stuff. She doesn't use it for anything other than to look at every once and awhile. -- Rainy days // For some, the sound and the misty fog that rain brings is annoying. Aeryn finds it far easier to concentrate with the relaxing and steadying sound, and not to mention the beautiful droplets. -- Stories // More of a listener than a teller, Aeryn is interested in stories, whether real or not. |
Quirks ;;
-- Flicks her ear and tail... alot. // Can be slightly annoying to others, though by now others have learned not to comment about it unless they're willing to risk her fangs. -- Really hates talking about her past. // Any particular reason? No. (She's kind of embarrassed about her biased views, but proud of how much she's changed -for the better-) -- Rocks. // As a young cub Aeryn would stack rocks outside small crevices in the rock to hide herself away. While she doesn't do this anymore, she likes having a small stack outside her den. |
Dislikes ;;
-- Heat // She doesn't understand why it bothers her more than any other DW, but it does. She likes to hide away in her den until nightfall when it's cooler. It's strange but nobody complains as long as she's where she needs to be when it's required. -- Ravines // As a strategist, ravines are perfect in certain situations... as long as you're not the one traveling through them. The long shadows and high arching walls of rock unnerve her, for more than just surface reasons. -- Scavenger Birds // An omen of death and decay. |
Magic // Elemental Ability ;;
Aeryn is far stronger than most as far as her element goes.
She's able to use it and strike fast and critically, and if the situation demands it, keep up the attack for longer periods of time. Aeryn doesn't just have a natural affinity for this though- like some are keen to whisper about- she's spent countless hours training and honing her ability, dedication undeniable.
Physical Ability ;;
This DW is a slim and agile warrior, and quick on her toes. Unfortunately she can't take as much damage and tires easily, the opposite of her element capabilities. After numerous failed training sessions as an older pup, she realized that if she could have a dependable partner to cover some of the physical blows, she would have the time to focus and use her element to both attack and defend.
